"Dogs" by Wardle from Player 1940

Irish Setter

This rare and lovely card was issued 84 years ago by John Player & Sons Ltd. This beautiful card is from a set of 25 cards entitled "Dogs". The card was meant to be given as a free premium but was never issued due to the paper shortage caused by WW2. The front of the card shows a drawn picture of the dog by the famous artist Arthur Wardle, while the back of the card has a brief description of this breed. The card measures 2 3/8" x 3 1/8" or 63mm x 80mm.
