"Dogs, by Wardle (Heads)" from Player 1929

Pekingese

This full color card was issued 95 years ago by John Player and Sons. Bright white background makes this card lovely to frame. This beautiful card is from a set of 50 cards entitled "Dogs" to put in an album that was available at the time. The card was given as a free premium and was inserted into a packet of 10 Player's cigarettes. The front of the card shows a picture of the dog painted by the artist Arthur Wardle with his signature on the front, while the back of the card has a brief description of this breed. The card measures 2 5/8" x 1 3/8" or 65mm x 35mm.
